Dynamic Australian rock band Blackwater release their latest single "Cut Down" as a free download, visit their release page at http://cutdown.theofficialblackwater.com
Blackwater is a three piece hard rock/metal band, with Ben Baumann on vocals and bass guitar, Bam Morris on lead guitar and Trav Emms on drums.
Blackwater was formed in mid 2008 when a chance meeting between Bam and Trav led to the three friends reuniting. With Trav and Ben still playing on a regular basis, the school mates were keen to get together and jam on songs that Bam had written.
After a couple of rehearsals it was decided that new material should be written to encompass the influences of the whole group. The resulting sound was a mix of modern hard rock, big metal riffs, melodic vocals and punchy, groove based rhythms.
Much of the next two years were spent writing material while the band tightened it's sound in the rehearsal room. Ben took on the role of lead vocals with Bam covering back-up vocal duties. Blackwater's first gig was at one of Adelaide's most well known live music venues, the Crown and Anchor on the 24th of June 2010. Taking to the stage in support of fellow Adelaide band Quaero Verum, the Blackwater boys gave an awesome performance, showing that the long time spent on preparation was well worth it.
Since then, Blackwater has played many shows alongside Quaero Verum and other bands including Loaded Billy, Sirius, Another Day Another Tragedy, A Black Picture and Texas Embrace Them.
Australian based project HighRPM is getting the gears rolling this year, literally. Aimed at the local motorsports scene in the Northern Territory the team aims to help the motoring community expose the enthusiasm and quality that exists by the bucketload but is rarely highlighted enough by the media.
Originally intended mostly for the web market with traditional website and forums focused mainly on local content the development team has also embraced the opportunity for airtime on digital television, encouraged by the realisation that video media is the best way to capture such a range of fast and dynamic sports.
With a four person presenting team made up of local identities from the Darwin area and a talented development team working behind the scenes they intend initially on bringing featurette style articles to the public alongside their web platforms. This is shaping up to be a great concept for local motorsports in general and considering the amount of local interest it is generating will have plenty of support to get going.
Zerolizard Media put together a behind the scenes look at the media teams first presenter promo shoot at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin just last month (below).

KYLE Sandilands has thanked Channel 7 for "having the ballS" to sign him as a judge on variety program Australia's Got Talent less than six months after being sacked by Channel 10 for his part in an outrageous radio stunt involving a teenage rape victim.
The 38-year-old former Australian Idol judge told of how he got Australia’s Got Talent judge Dannii Minogue’s blessing before taking the gig, with the pregnant star ringing him up to congratulate him.
Do you think Kyle's the best choice for this judging gig? Let's have your thoughts below.
“When Dannii Minogue is on the phone and says ‘I would love nothing better than sitting alongside you’ … well,” Sandilands told Seven’s breakfast program, Sunrise, live from Los Angeles where he has been hosting his 2Day FM breakfast radio show.
When asked why he was joining the Seven fold the shock jock made light of his sacking from Australian Idol
in August last year.
“Look, well, because I got fired from the other network and you guys were kind enough to come knocking,” he said.
“I am broadening my horizons on there and the opportunity came knocking and it was too good to pass up. The thing is, everyone loves a good singer and everyone loves a good dancer, the great thing is it’s up to what talent walks up throughout the series . We’ve seen some strange things on Idol and I am sure it’s going to get stranger.”
Sandilands admitted he hadn’t spoken to Seven executives since initial discussions about the Australia’s Got Talent role, but hadn’t been told to tone down his straight-shooting persona which has landed him in hot water in the past, especially last year.

THOSE George Michael rumours finally can be put to bed - the pop superstar definitely will be performing at the Mardi Gras after-party.
We can also reveal Michael should be having a quiet night in tonight - he will be on stage at 5am on Sunday.
Rumours have been swirling for weeks that he would be a surprise guest at one of Sydney's biggest annual parties. The buzz went off the boil last week when insiders suggested he might attend but would not perform, but Sydney's gay and lesbian community has won him over.
Confirmed Mardi Gras Party headliner David Guetta, who will be DJing with Kelly Rowlandsinging, said he had no problems with Michael possibly stealing some of his spotlight.
"As long as he agrees to work with me sometime," the French superstar DJ grinned. He may have to wait his turn, though, because Michael is reportedly using some of his down time in Sydney to work on new material with local dance producers.
Kasey Kahne’s contract with Petty Motorsports will be up at the end of this season and folks have already began to speculate where this young prospect will end up at for the 2011 season in NASCAR.
Kasey has made the chase only twice in his career but he has won eleven times in his career including a six win season in 2006. Kasey has a lot of potential still and he has proven how good he is on several occasions from 2005 where he dominated in Richmond to earn his first career win to 2009 where he really brought back Richard Petty Motorsports to the spotlight by making the Chase and earning 2 huge wins along the way. Kasey has proven to fans that he is a championship caliber driver but he just doesn’t seem to be with the right team in order to win a championship.
Kasey has been in the 9 car his entire career but the team itself has went through so many changes in the seven years of existence either it has been crew changes or ownership changes, the point is that Kasey’s team has always been in a state of mass confusion that has caused this young man not to be a challenger for a championship in the Sprint Cup Series.
The NASCAR community have heard that Kasey is considering himself a free agent after this season so teams are already lining up to offer this kid a ride but where would he be able to go in order to be a championship contender? Well we know that Stewart-Haas Racing is trying to expand to three cars for the 2011 season and that could be a good fit for Kasey except that Kasey and Tony Stewart haven’t always see eye to eye on things and that could cause some tension for that young team. So maybe Stewart-Haas Racing won’t be the team to sign Kasey, instead he could sign with Joe Gibbs Racing right? Well people saw what happened to Richard Childress Racing last year when they expanded to four cars so the motto “less is more”, may apply to Gibbs and if that is the case then there just simply won’t be any room for Kasey.
For the second Olympics in a row, Australia's Lydia Lassila was stuck in the snow and screaming to the heavens.
The only difference from four years ago was her squeals this time were of uncontained joy after winning gold in the women's freestyle aerials at the Vancouver Winter Games.
It was in stark contrast to her last Winter Olympics in Turin, when she unleashed a blood-curdling scream after her knee disintegrated on landing, not only ruining her chances of winning the gold but raising doubts about whether she would ever compete again.
I never backed down, I crossed my t's and dotted my i's. I've had my ups and downs but I've fought through and believed.
Lassila said resolutely after taking gold in Vancouver with a top score of 214.74.

Fashion legend Alexander McQueen may have died, but his legacy and his fashion company will move forward.
The fashion label, whose namesake and creative director committed suicide last week, will continue making fancy, celebrity-friendly clothes, according to PPR SA, which owns it.
"The trademark Alexander McQueen will live on," chairman and chief executive officer Francois-Henri Pinault said in a presentation in Paris earlier today. "We believe a lot in that brand. It has huge potential."
Plus, not only will there be a McQueen show during Paris Fashion Week, but it sounds like the designer's employees will keep their jobs.
"Lee was very proud of the people working in his company, and so am I," Pinault said.

FOOTBALLER Jarrod Sammut has revealed a new tattoo but he probably should have checked the spelling first.
The fullback for Penrith Panthers had "Justify Your Existance" tattooed in big, bold letters all across his chest last year but it took two weeks before he realised the mistake.
"I had a little bit of a giggle about it but there's not much I can do now," he said.
"I picked out the style and the bloke wrote it down on the tracing pad. I had a quick look at it, I liked the type and shape and I was happy with it."
As well the new tat, Sammut has bulked up. "I've put on a good 8kg," he said.
"I played last year at 72kg to 74kg but I'm now at 82kg. It is the heaviest I have been."
CHARLIE Sheen's wife, whom he allegedly assaulted, is now in rehab for substance abuse.
The development appears to seriously jeopardise the criminal case against Sheen - for the prosecution's case boils down to Charlie's word against Brooke Mueller's.
She claims he put a knife to her throat and threatened her life. He denies it.
Brooke, mother of their nine-month-old twins, reportedly had been drinking before she called emergency services and that could affect her credibility.
Brooke checked into The Canyon rehab facility in Malibu last Tuesday - the day after the Two And A Half Men star's arraignment on felony and misdemeanour charges.
If Brooke struggled with substance abuse around the Christmas Day incident, it could severely impact her credibility, TMZ web site reports.
Sheen has a history of drug abuse and abuse of women. His previous wife, actress Denise Richards, while pregnant with their second daughter Lola, filed for divorce accusing Sheen of abusing drugs and alcohol and threatening Richards with violence in March 2005.
